Description
The ENERGY database is available through ETDE (IEA Energy Technology Data Exchange implementing agreement) and various database providers. More information can be found at http://www.etde.org or at http://www.cas.org/ONLINE/DBSS/dbsslist.html (maintained by STN International).

 

Availability
The database (1995 onwards) is available free of charge from http://www.etde.org for IEA ETDE member countries. Database providers offering ENERGY include STN, STN Easy and the Dialog Corporation.

 

Number of entries: keywords = heat pump (Sept. 99)
Full database, via STN: 3,713,600 citations (9/99); 19,600 entries with keywords = heat pump. Last five years on ETDE website: 1,261 entries with keywords = heat pump.

 

Description of heat pump entries

• Application area: all (some emphasis on residences and industry)

• Heat sources: all, mostly waste heat and ground-coupled

• Technology specification: all (6% of heat pump literature on sorption systems). Below 1% on TVR

• Type of project: 1% refer to pilot or demonstration projects

Assessment
The database covers worldwide publications on energy research and the environmental effects of energy use, including journals, reports, conference proceedings etc.
