Activities within the National Team

 

The National Team arranges three to four meetings every year. The following topics are discussed during these meetings (among other things) :
• National developments and strengthening the position of heat pumps in the basis of national policy
• Strengthening of the national knowledge basis
• Collaboration in EU and IEA projects
• Organisation of international workshops in Netherlands

 

Projects of interest in the Nederlands

 

Several of the participants are active in national and international projects.

The main current areas for research and development are related to market developments and can be segmented into:

         Improvement of heat sources, with air-coolers, ground source loop-systems, open source systems and the use of waste heat.

         Improvement and development of heat pump technology and components, such as:

o       Development of retrofit heat pumps to replace oil and gas burners

o       Development of heat pumps with natural working fluids (ammonia and CO2)

o       Development of heat pumps with sorption cycli;

o       Improving components such as compressors, heat exchangers and other equipment

         Improving systems for heating at low temperatures and cooling at high temperatures in new buildings and methods for renovation of buidlings

         Improving the integration of the heat pumps in new and existing buildings incl. improvement of control equipment and control strategies;
