Rittinger awardees 2011

The International Energy Agency Heat Pump Programme has announced the 2011 awardees of the prestigious Ritter von Rittinger Medal, the highest recognition award in the air conditioning, heating and refrigeration field. The 2011 Rittinger awardees are Professor Per-Erling Frivik, Norway, Mr John D. Ryan, U.S. and Professor-Doctor Hermann Halozan, Austria.

The award highlights outstanding contributions to the advancement of international collaboration in research, policy and market development and applications for energy-efficient heat pumping technologies that result in environmental benefits. It is awarded every three years in conjunction with the International IEA Heat Pump Conference. Due to the cancellation of the 2011 Heat Pump Conference scheduled for Japan, the awardees received the awards at a special banquet held in Paris on May 17th, 2011. Dr Sophie Hosatte, Chair of the IEA Heat Pump Programme Executive Committee, presented the awards.
