Peter Ritter von Rittinger International Heat Pump Award

The Peter Ritter von Rittinger International Heat Pump Award is the highest international award in the air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration field and was introduced at the Las Vegas Conference (8th IEA HP Conference). This award highlights outstanding contributions to the advancement of international collaboration in research, policy development and applications for energy-efficient heat pumping technologies. It is awarded every three years in conjunction with the International Heat Pump Conference.

 

The Rittinger award is named for Peter Ritter von Rittinger who is credited with the design and installation of the first energy-conserving heat pump system at a salt works in Upper Austria in 1855.
